[jira] [Commented] (YUNIKORN-982) Handle placeholders that are different from real allocations
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YUNIKORN-982?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17471667#comment-17471667 ]
Wilfred Spiegelenburg commented on YUNIKORN-982:
------------------------------------------------
PR opened that handles the three cases correctly without causing internal stats to go out of sync:
* placeholder is same as real (expected and already working case)
* placeholder is smaller than real (remove placeholders)
* placeholder is larger than real (adjust usage in queue and nodes)
> Handle placeholders that are different from real allocations

> If a placeholder is not the same resource size as the real allocation that replaces it YuniKorn will leak resources. In YUNIKORN-580 a log entry was added to detect the case. It will still cause the out of sync state but we can detect it.
> Handling the issue in the code outright is a better solution.
