The default Chukwa initial_adaptors file tries to start watching /var/log/messages. This is probably a bad default; on many systems, /var/log/messages is only readable by root. We don't want to require people to run Chukwa as root, right?

You are right, let's remove it. Internally, we encounter the same problem as well.
