Trying to install Ambari on SUSE 11 with default values for default settings
The ambari-server setup process stops on:

Default properties detected. Using built-in database.
Checking PostgreSQL...
Run initdb
About to start PostgreSQL

service postgresql status command indicates that postgresql is running:
