[jira] [Commented] (MATH-943) Markov chains

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MATH-943?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13667389#comment-13667389 ]

Thomas Neidhart commented on MATH-943:

Hi Piotr,

I have looked at your contribution, and this looks already pretty good and would be a useful addition.

Before integrating, I will like to further investigate how we should define a RandomProcess/StochasticProcess interface (see also MATH-463) and whether we should extend the MarkovChain already for a continuous state space (e.g. to be re-used for Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods).

> I'd like to contribute a Markov chain class. I was not sure to which package this class should belong. Therefore, I've created a new {{org.apache.commons.math3.random.process}} package. I attach class file, test file, and package info.
