[jira] Closed: (CAY-1362) Allow multiple opened projects at the same time in Modeler.

Mike Kienenberger closed CAY-1362.
----------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

This would probably require a great deal of work to implement with little payoff. No plans to implement at this time.

There is a simple workaround -- open each project in a separate instance of the modeler.

If you are willing to provide patches, feel free to have the issue reopened.

Note that you will get better responses to feature requests if

a) You discuss it first on the mailing lists.

and

b) You volunteer to do the work.

It is the general policy of Cayenne not to leave undiscussed new feature requests opened if there is no one interested in doing the work. A discussed feature request might be left open if, after discussion, the work is deemed important enough that a current committer wants to see it happen and takes ownership of the issue.

Likewise, if you are providing patches, we will consider new features. But again, without discussion first on the development list for a feature that only you want, it is less likely that anyone will investigate your patches.

> Please allow to have multiple opened Projects in Cayenne Modeler at the same time.
> It is quite common to work at the same time on more than one project, or to be make the same "similar" updates to several projects.
> Right now it requires closing and reopening constantly between projects :(.
> Also the "last used directory" of the "open" dialog seems to be lost in this case :( (it should be project dependent).
