[jira] Created: (INFRA-3263) Migrate XML Commons from Bugzilla to JIRA

Migrate XML Commons from Bugzilla to JIRA
-----------------------------------------

                 Key: INFRA-3263
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-3263
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Task
      Security Level: public (Regular issues)
          Components: JIRA
            Reporter: Michael Glavassevich

XML Commons has moved from the XML Project to the Xerces Project. All of the other Xerces sub-projects use JIRA for issue tracking and XML Commons should too now that it's part of the Xerces TLP. A discussion of the migration plan is archived here: http://markmail.org/message/u2762hmlo3vsit7y

Please migrate the XmlCommons Product in ASF Bugzilla to JIRA. The project key should be "XML Commons".
All of the existing Bugzilla issues should be migrated over.
E-mail notifications should go to commons-dev@xml.apache.org until our list is migrated to xml-commons-dev@xerces.apache.org (see INFRA-3262)
Please make me the administrator of the JIRA project (mrglavas@ca.ibm.com, mrglavas@apache.org)
Create and search for XML Commons issues in Bugzilla should be disabled.

Thanks.

[jira] Reopened: (INFRA-3263) Migrate XML Commons from Bugzilla to JIRA

Michael Glavassevich reopened INFRA-3263:
-----------------------------------------

Looks like everything was migrated over correctly, but I seem to be locked out from editing the project and see no "Administer Project" link on the XMLCommons JIRA project page like I do for Xerces-J. Guessing no one else has privileges to edit (e.g. add new releases, new project members, etc...) either. Can you add me (mrglavas@ca.ibm.com) to the project as an administrator? Or is there some other way I'm supposed to do this?

Thanks.

    Resolution: Fixed

My bad. I don't know JIRA that well so I though setting you up as the project lead would be sufficient. I've added you to admins for the project.

One Jira restart later, the JDBC driver to import from Bugzilla is ready to go. I'm making the XMLCommons project in Bugzilla read-only again.

Mark Thomas commented on INFRA-3263:
------------------------------------

I'm am looking at this now. I need to make the XML commons issues in Bugzilla read-only first. If all goes well, I'll leave them that way. If the JIRA import fails, I'll revert back to Bugzilla.

Create and edit will be disabled in Bugzilla after a successful migration. Disabling for search is not really possible. What I can do is change the product name from "XMLCommons" to "XMLCommons - Moved to JIRA"

XMLCommons in BZ is back to read/write. JIRA needs a JDBC driver to be installed in order to do the import.
