  If you run into an error like <code>ld: can't locate framework for: -framework ./module.o</code>, you can bet that it means that the framework wasn't figured out by the configure script properly. Dig for that code in the Makefile, see what variable it's using. If that variable isn't set, set it in the autoconf script (or just hack it into the Makefile and send a note to the developers).
  <br/>
  <br/>
  In this case I figured that it was supposed to read <code>-framework Python ./module.o</code> so I just needed to set it the <code>Python</code> part. </div>

You'd just need to separate SEDAs event
  queues from the stage so you could reboot the stage without losing your events. Since microreboots are supposed to take on the order of milliseconds, throughput is supposed to stay high while latency only increases a little bit. That's the theory anyway.

  Eclipse is bad-ass. I've been having memory problems with Emacs lately (Since there's no XEmacs for OS X yet, I'm stuck with GNU Emacs) and this month's Dr. Dobbs had three articles on Eclipse (a lot for an issue on distributed computing but I guess you can only publish so many articles on Linda) so I decided to try it out. It really is quite nice. I'm going to use it for the next week or so and see if I can kick a decade-long Emacs habit. I've alredy found replacements for my 10 favorite Emacs plugins.

  I used Comcast's On Demand cable service tonight. I watched 6 minutes from The Daily Show. The future happened last week apparently; they sent me a piece of snail mail letting me know that I had it and that it was on Channel 1.

  One last thing: if you feel your productivity at work slipping, remember Ole Eichorn's advise and <a href="http://w-uh.com/articles/030308-tyranny_of_email.html">turn your email client off.</a> IM, too. Strangely, it's easy to forget to keep them turned off.</div>

   <blockquote style="font-style: italic;">
     <span style=";font-family:arial,helvetica;font-size:85%;">After software, the most important tool to a hacker is probably his office. Big companies think the function of office space is to express rank. But hackers use their offices for more than that: they use their office as a place to think in. And if you're a technology company, their thoughts are your product. So making hackers work in a noisy, distracting environment is like having a paint factory where the air is full of soot.

  The cartoon strip Dilbert has a lot to say about cubicles, and with good reason. All the hackers I know despise them. The mere prospect of being interrupted is enough to prevent hackers from working on hard problems. If you want to get real work done in an office with cubicles, you have two options: work at home, or come in early or late or on a weekend, when no one else is there. Don't companies realize this is a sign that something is broken? An office environment is supposed to be something you work in, not something you work despite.</span>

On your primary monitor, you had the windows application that you'd be debugging. On your secondary Hercules monitor, you'd have your debugging information. Given present day technology, this is a serious yawn, but remember, we're talking about the early 90s here. Macs remained spendy and it'd be another eight years before Microsoft landed dual-monitor support in Windows 2000."

  <p>
  Yes, I'll confirm this was true at least as early as DOS 5. This was possible because Mono cards and color video cards used different IRQs.

  I resonate very strongly with this post. Except the part where he became a total Windows nerd, I became a Unix dork. Oh, and he was hacking away at a real job at Borland while I was busy hacking on microcontrollers in my bedroom, listening to the Ramones, getting pneumonia from crawling around in telephone company dumpsters in December, using Turbo Debugger on my second monitor, SysV on my <a href="http://home.att.net/~terminals/images/dec-vt320.jpg">actual vt320 terminal</a>, and just generally being 15 years old.

  If you use a captcha, spammers will use OCR. If you make them answer a question, they'll collect all of the questions and answer them one by one, or even better, post the question on their own porn sites as a "bot protection" question on their <strong>own</strong> sites, hence programmatically getting an answer from another human.

  That last part should have you scared. He's right, CAPTCHA is completely vulnerable to man in the middle. Another good reason to dump CAPTCHA and find something better.

Dig for that code in the Makefile, see what variable it's using. If that variable isn't set, set it in the autoconf script (or just hack it into the Makefile and send a note to the developers).

  In this case I figured that it was supposed to read <code>-framework Python ./module.o</code> so I just needed to set it the <code>Python</code> part. </div>

You'd just need to separate SEDAs event

  <p>
  </p>
  <p>

  Ah, memories.

  <blockquote>
  If you use a captcha, spammers will use OCR. If you make them answer a question, they'll collect all of the questions and answer them one by one, or even better, post the question on their own porn sites as a "bot protection" question on their <strong>own</strong> sites, hence programmatically getting an answer from another human.
   </blockquote>
  That last part should have you scared. He's right, CAPTCHA is completely vulnerable to man in the middle. Another good reason to dump CAPTCHA and find something better.
