Continuum does have notifiers and the default is to notify when the state changes.

Here's an example of what I think you're asking for-- an email notification of a successful build, showing a previous state of Failed:

That notification came from a mail notifier added to the project group using the Continuum web UI.  (It's best for open source projects not to configure them in the POM, otherwise we get notifications from anyone who adds the project to their own server.)

There is also an option to send a notification on every build, regardless of whether the state changed, but that may have to be configured in one of the xml files rather than through the web UI.

To me that documentation would suggest that you can only get notifications when a state is achieved (failure, success, warning, error), not just on the transition. However the example you posted below appears to be what I am looking for. What was the configuration for this?

I am using Continuum 1.1.
