Issues 493 and 532

I would love to keep working on these, but the reality is that my
responsibilities as a husband, parent, student, teacher's assistant, and part
time retail employee have to come first right now. Hopefully things will slow
down a little bit after the next two weeks, and I will have some more time to
spend on svn development, but if anyone wants to take on these issues in the
meantime, be my guest.

I do have a couple of thoughts regarding the recursive/non-recursive thing.
What I would like to see is both of those switches removed and a
--depth=[0,1,inf] introduced, so that each subcommand would have a default
depth, but they could all be over-ridden with the --depth switch.

Quite understood, Kevin. Look forward to more contributions after
things get settled for you... (And much thanks for all your work so
far, of course!)

I've annotated the issues and put them back in the unassigned pool,
btw.
