using name-from-attribute in tld causes NullPointerException
Summary: using name-from-attribute in tld causes
NullPointerException
Product: Tomcat 4
Version: 4.1.10
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: Blocker
Priority: Other
Component: Jasper 2
AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: craigl@begeek.com
i am using the taglib 1.2 style of specfiying variables. i have found that
using the name-from-attribute entry causes the following error:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at java.util.Hashtable.get(Hashtable.java(Compiled Code))
at
org.apache.jasper.compiler.ScriptingVariabler$ScriptingVariableVisitor.setScriptingVars(ScriptingVariabler.java:175)
at
org.apache.jasper.compiler.ScriptingVariabler$ScriptingVariableVisitor.visit(ScriptingVariabler.java:110)
at org.apache.jasper.compiler.Node$CustomTag.accept(Node.java:701)
at org.apache.jasper.compiler.Node$Nodes.visit(Node.java:1014)
at org.apache.jasper.compiler.Node$Visitor.visitBody(Node.java:1056)
at org.apache.jasper.compiler.Node$Visitor.visit(Node.java:1062)
at org.apache.jasper.compiler.Node$Root.accept(Node.java:232)
at org.apache.jasper.compiler.Node$Nodes.visit(Node.java:1014)
at
org.apache.jasper.compiler.ScriptingVariabler.set(ScriptingVariabler.java:197)
at org.apache.jasper.compiler.Compiler.generateJava(Compiler.java:241)
at org.apache.jasper.compiler.Compiler.compile(Compiler.java:325)
the tld entry is as follows:
<variable>
<name-from-attribute>id</name-from-attribute>
<variable-class>com.begeek.engine.config.PageInfo</variable-class>
<declare>true</declare>
<scope>AT_BEGIN</scope>
</variable>
the getId() method on a newly created PageInfo object does return a default
value ( not sure if thats required )
i'd be happy to try anything or provide any further information upon request.
