[jira] [Created] (NPANDAY-616) Newlines not stripped in AssemblyInfo.cs

Eric Kolotyluk created NPANDAY-616:
--------------------------------------

Summary: Newlines not stripped in AssemblyInfo.cs
                 Key: NPANDAY-616
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NPANDAY-616
             Project: NPanday
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Maven Plugins
    Affects Versions: 1.5.0-incubating
         Environment: Apache Maven 3.1.1 (0728685237757ffbf44136acec0402957f723d9a; 2013-09-17 08:22:22-0700)
Maven home: D:\bin\Apache\apache-maven-3.1.1
Java version: 1.7.0_51, vendor: Oracle Corporation
Java home: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_51\jre
Default locale: en_US, platform encoding: utf-8
OS name: "windows 8", version: "6.2", arch: "amd64", family: "windows"
            Reporter: Eric Kolotyluk

When NPanday generates the AssemblyInfo.cs from the POM file, it injects <description>text</description> into AssemblyDescription("text"), including any newlines.

While newlines are handled fine by other parts of Maven, .Net cannot handle them in AssemblyInfo.cs.

The workaround is to remove the newlines from the POM, but this should not be necessary as it is unexpected behavior, and results in unnecessary troubleshooting.
