If you want to stop Tomcat doing this for a webapp only
put a META-INF/context.xml in your WAR with the following content:







If you want to stop Tomcat doing this for all webapps you can do the
same in
${CATALINA_HOME}/conf/context.xml
In this file you even have a comment:


 Uncomment this to disable session persistence across Tomcat restarts
