[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-5139) Make Core Admin more user friendly when in SolrCloud mode.

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-5139?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13737242#comment-13737242 ]

Mark Miller commented on SOLR-5139:
-----------------------------------

A couple ideas:

1. Detect SolrCloud mode and display some text warning about using the core admin commands in solrcloud mode.
2. Disable all the controls in SolrCloud mode unless you unlock them with an 'expert' control.

> The CoreAdmin in the UI can easily get users into trouble - especially since we don't yet have a collection management API. The info displayed is useful though, and sometimes it makes sense to have access to the commands on a per core level as well.
> We should improve the situation though.
