REMINDER: "Taking jetspeed for a Ride" - Full day Jetspeed training at ApacheCon US 2009, Nov 2nd, Oakland

Dear community,

I'd like to inform you about the full day Apache Jetspeed-2 Portal training
I'll be presenting at the ApacheCon US 2009 November the 2nd, Oakland.

If you are interested, please find further information here:

   http://www.us.apachecon.com/c/acus2009/sessions/383):

and the description of the training below:

In this one day training course on the Apache Jetspeed-2 Enterprise Portal,
you will be taking Jetspeed for an in-depth drive, learning how to customize
a powerful open source portal to your needs.

Besides being a fully standards based and JSR-286 compliant Portal,
Jetspeed brings many extra and easily configurable features to the table.
Leveraging these features and customizing Jetspeed to match and integrate
with your enterprise requirements is what this training is about.

Features which will be discussed and exercises provided for:
   - Writing your own "skins", called "decorators" in Jetspeed
   - Customizing and scripting the page layout
   - Site management and customizing the profiling rules
   - Personalization and using templates for the user home pages and folders
   - Understanding and adapting the Jetspeed Spring based configuration
   - Administrating the Jetspeed portal data using import and export
   - Customizing and extending the Jetspeed security model and back-end integration
   - Accessing and integrating Jetspeed services in your own portlet applications

Developing standards based portlets or building Jetspeed will *not* be covered.
The attendee should at least have a ground level understanding of portals and portlets.

For this training a pre-configured Jetspeed installation will be provided.
A laptop with Java 5 and preferably Eclipse installed is required to bring along yourself.
