cornerstone threads update

An updated version of cornerstone threads is in place.
Updates include:

   - sync with the SNAPSHOT versions of excalibur pool
     and excalibur threads (i.e. no deprecated content)

   - addition of native avalon tags for generation of
     meta-info content (legacy Phoenix descriptors are
     maintained)

   - tested and validated using the threads tutorial
     package

   - bumped version to SNAPSHOT (in prep for a 2.0
     release) as the service interface exposes a clean
     non-deprecated ThreadManager)
