Hmmm....

I did try this with Apache 2.0.46 on Windows -- and I could not reproduce any 
issues.  Yet I've received reports that this issue is reproducible with Apache 
1.3.27 and auth_ldap 1.6.0 -- which I also could not reproduce the issue on....

>From a glance at the sources, both auth_ldap 1.6.0 and the Apache 2.0.46 
mod_auth_ldap appear to have code intended to address this.  It appears to work 
at least *some* of the time.
