Summary: Module cannot authorize if authentication is done by
                    something else
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.0.55
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_auth_ldap
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: cmouse@desteem.org

I have a setup where user authentication is done with kerberos, and user
authorization is supposed to be done with ldap. Now, this cannot be done with
auth_ldap because it would like to authenticate the user as well.

This can be fixed homever, but the fix I have is probably a hax, so I rather let
you think how this is done properly.

[Fri Feb 10 15:43:54 2006] [warn] [client x.x.x.x] [7038] auth_ldap authorise:
no req struct - skipped mod_auth_ldap_check_user_id?, referer: https://site/

This is one of the headline changes in 2.2. In fact it's the very first thing
on the "what's new in 2.2" page. The fix for you is of course to upgrade.
But that also means we have no strong incentive to hack it in 2.0.
