I've run into this issue, in an attempt to push the filtering -- for the Iceberg table type – to the Metastore: https://github.com/apache/iceberg/pull/2722.

The Iceberg tests using Derby failed for the same reason as described above: https://github.com/apache/iceberg/pull/2722#issuecomment-867363019.
