I don't if I understand you correctly, but I think you want to login when
you go to the manager in tomcat 4.
Add eg. this line to TOMCAT_HOME/conf/tomcat-users.xml
<user name="martin" password="password" roles="manager"/>

restart tomcat and you can login... Replace the username and password for
something more appropiate..
