Thrift 0.4.0 Released
Thrift 0.4.0 is now released! It is available for download on the Thrift
website (http://incubator.apache.org/thrift/download/), though it may take a
little while for the cache to point to the correct tarball.
Thanks to everyone who contributed their time to this release.

Sorry, I never answered.
I have never used ant to publish anything so I'm unfamiliar with it as
well so I can't be of any immediate help but I'll see if I can find
anything useful when I have the time.
Cheers,
Lars

No, I haven't had the time to figure out what I'm supposed to do in order to
supply my credentials. I've determined that I *am* authorized. What we need
is someone who understands how ant-maven repo publishing is supposed to work
who is willing to work with me to figure the whole thing out.
(I am open to someone providing me with an alternative method that we're
sure will work, if they have one.)

The latest issue is that apparently I need to figure out how to authenticate
myself through the ant publish task. If you have time to look at that, I'd
be much obliged.

Thanks again for the new release!
And I'm sorry to ask again about the Maven deployment. Are there any
news or any specific issues we could help with?
Cheers,
Lars

Thanks again for the new release!
And I'm sorry to ask again about the Maven deployment. Are there any
news or any specific issues we could help with?

Re: Message Size limitations
Posted by Dave Engberg <de...@evernote.com>.
We send messages up to 50MB. Since Thrift encodes data pretty
efficiently on the wire, you don't have to worry about a lot of overhead
(e.g. from Base64 encoding in some XML format).
The only real limits would be your transport layer and how much memory
you have on both sides to marshal and unmarshal the corresponding
objects and any temporary buffers. We have seen some issues with mobile
phones that can't easily juggle 4 copies of a 50MB data structure.

Message Size limitations

Are there any known message size limitations imposed by thrift, or at least a recommended maximum size (bytes)? Has any investigation been done to discover what an average max size being transferred by most thrift users is?
