Alice Chen created TRAFODION-452:
------------------------------------
Summary: LP Bug: 1342954 - LLVM library is not thread-safe and T2 wants to use it as if it were
Key: TRAFODION-452
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TRAFODION-452
Project: Apache Trafodion
Issue Type: Bug
Reporter: Apache Trafodion
Assignee: Apache Trafodion
Priority: Critical
The LLVM library is known to not be thread-safe. The T2 driver environment wants to have multiple threads in the same process that are using the LLVM library concurrently. We must either disable the Native Expressions feature when using T2 or find a way to prevent the LLVM library from being used by more than one thread in a process in a concurrent fashion. (Assuming, of course, that the open-source group that maintains the LLVM library will not be making the library thread-safe.)
