WinCVS question

Hi, 
 
When I use WinCVS 1.3 try to download the Xalan latest code ,  after I set
the CVSROOT to : :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.apache.org:/home/cvspublic
the output window shows:

NEW CVSROOT: :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.apache.org:/home/cvspublic (local mounted
directory)

then when I try to login, it says:

Logging in is only required with pserver authentication (see Preferences
dialog).

Please consult the CVS manual for more details.

It does allow me to login ,
 
Is the problem of WINCVS new version or what?
