[jira] [Created] (SPARK-34216) typeName of CalendarIntervalType changed from spark 2 to 3

Sasa Zejnilovic created SPARK-34216:
---------------------------------------

Summary: typeName of CalendarIntervalType changed from spark 2 to 3
                 Key: SPARK-34216
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-34216
             Project: Spark
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Spark Core
    Affects Versions: 3.0.1, 3.0.0
            Reporter: Sasa Zejnilovic

Between the version of spark 2.X and 3.X you have changed how {{typeName}} is generated for {{CalendarIntervalType}}. It is now a constant that does not equal the old value. Also, for others, it seems you have kept the old way. Why is that?

Did you mean to make it {{simpleName}} instead of {{typeName}}?

Whatever the result, it is missing in changelogs.
