[jira] [Commented] (AVRO-1254) Trevni support for the mapreduce apis

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AVRO-1254?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13578736#comment-13578736 ]

Ted Malaska commented on AVRO-1254:
-----------------------------------

As I dig into the Avro code for inspiration for this change I'm finding some weird things.

1. AvroWrapper and AvroKey are like the same thing
2. The inputFormat for mapred is AvroInputFormat but the mapreduce inputFormat is AvroKeyInputFormat

I'm am not sure of the history here or if it should impact the trevni's inputFormat naming convention.

> Right now there are a Input and Output Format for the Map/Reduce mapred api but not for the mapreduce api.
> I will add that support in a new package called org.apache.trevni.avro.mapreduce in the trevni-avro package
> I will also attempt to move mapred formats to a new org.apache.trevni.avro.mapred package
