Session memory eatage

This may be a Tomcat issue, but maybe you guys know.

I have an app with a front page which has no servlet associated with it (ie
no memory leaks!). I don't require users to log on to access this page.
Whenever I repeatedly access this page my memory usage just goes up an up. I
assume this is because Turbine is creating a new session for every access -
but why? Why isn't the session id carried between refreshes by a cookie?

Any ideas?
