   Personally, I prefer it how it is, and wouldn't want to see it changed by default.  But if you don't want to use another look and feel, then you can override the width easily enough.
   
   Go to `Tools / Options / Appearance / FlatLaf`.  Click `Edit custom properties`.  This will open a text file, so just close the options window.  Add
   
   ```properties
   ScrollBar.width=20
   ```
   
   Save the file.  Restart NetBeans.
