Appender Closed??

Hello All,

I've got a problem where I modify an appender after loading the initial XML 
file.  It's a FileAppender where I call setFile(<fileName>,true).  The 
problem is that after I do that (using the latest version, it wasn't a 
problem earlier), I get

log4j:ERROR Attempted to append to closed appender named [expressoLog].
log4j:WARN Not allowed to write to a closed appender.

Is there a change in the API that I'm missing?
