Nilupuls Sandeepa commented on MARMOTTA-587:
--------------------------------------------
Hello all,
I am an Information Technology student at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and I'm currently studying as a second year student. Up to now I worked with MySQL and other programming languages like C, Java, JavaScript, php. I am willing to contribute to the project KiWi support for Crate DB. Can I have some more information about what are the parts of this project that are still open and what things expected to done during GSoC period?
Thank You!

> [Crate|https://crate.io/overview] is new database that promises to scale in a cluster environment.
> Since it [uses SQL to query|https://crate.io/docs/stable/sql] and [can be accessed via JDBC|https://crate.io/docs/projects/crate-jdbc], it might be worth to investigate if we can support such database in the KiWi triple store.
> Crate is available under a dual licensing model: open source version under Apache License 2.0 and commercial on top of the open source product.
