Kevin A. McGrail reopened INFRA-4054:
-------------------------------------

We continue to see growing time drift. Now at ~15 seconds and we are only checking for drift in excess of 10 second. Something is wrong with NTP on these machines.

Mon Dec 12 06:10:01 UTC 2011
12 Dec 06:10:01 ntpdate[3609]: ntpdate 3-5.93e+sun 03/06/05 23:16:45 (1.4)

> Having an issue I'm seeing for the SA project. We've had some automated tools going wacky for the last few weeks (more than 8).
> We've been unable to identify why.
> Someone suggested checking the time.
> Here's what I see on zones for SA:
> zones: Wed Oct 19 19:48:38 GMT 2011
> zones2: Wed Oct 19 20:51:45 UTC 2011
> Far as I know GMT and UTC are identical zones, yes?
> I couldn't use ntpdate to update the time even as root user so I'm guessing the virtualization server might have the wrong time.
