Question on encodingStyle attribute.

HI,
What are the things i should do if i want to use the
custom serialiazation. What i mean is 

SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://localhost:8080/encoding/"

Do i need to write the schema for above thing. If yes
what next. Does webserver need to serve the schema file. Can anybody tell me how exactly to do this.
What are the advantages of doing this.
