Jackrabbit 2.1.0 release plan

Hi,

It's time again to start planning for a new Jackrabbit release. We
already have some new features and improvements in trunk and more
coming up, so I'd like to go for a Jackrabbit 2.1.0 release in about a
month from now.

Please use the 2.1.0 version in Jira to tag any issues you'd like to
see fixed in time for this release.

BR,

Jukka Zitting

Thanks for these. Both will be included in 2.1.0.

Jukka-
Any chance of JCR-2567 and JCR-2568 getting into 2.1.0? They are very
trivial and will be of great help getting the DavEX test suite
integrated into Sling's test suite.

Thanks,
Justin

I'll branch 2.1 from trunk after the Easter holidays, and we'll leave
a week or two for stabilization before cutting the 2.1.0 release
candidate.

Agreed, I'll take a look at this.

I won't change the fix version # as I'm not a dev, but would love to argue
for fixing https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JCR-2579. Of course I filed
it, but it seems rather important to support concurrent writes to me. :-)

I'm surprised this type of threading bug has made it this long in Jackrabbit
actually, something seems fishy about it.

Cheers,
Dan

Any chance to see https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JCR-2504 (or
the older https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JCR-1861) in this
release?

JCR-2504 is a recent patch for allowing indexing configuration to be
loaded from the classpath, very handy if you need to embed and
distribute a configuration file within your own application.
The patch in JCR-1861 is pretty old but extends the handling of
classpath resources to any jackrabbit configuration file... I think
it's a really useful feature for several situations, so it's a pity to
see the patch standing there since jackrabbit 1.4.
