[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-3509) Print support in Web UI

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-3509?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15539911#comment-15539911 ]

Alexandre Rafalovitch commented on SOLR-3509:
---------------------------------------------

SOLR-3554 has been closed. For this one, I am curious which screens make sense to print at all. Especially if compared with just doing a screenshot.

I could think of maybe properties screen, but it frequently overflows the content area, so requires interaction to see the individual elements.

The query result screens are easier to just open in a separate window without the clutter of UI.

Analysis screen is probably easiest with screenshot.

In short, I am not sure what the specific use-case here is to benefit from our - very limited - UI attention span.

> Please try printing the various pages and decide if they need different layouts or formatting. For example, it would help if all characters are in black, not grey.
> I have attached a sample printout of the UI.
