   This PR has been open for an extended period with no recent activity. We're doing a cleanup pass on stale PRs in the Cassandra queue.
   
   **Is this still a valid, active contribution?**
   
   If yes — please rebase against the current target branch and leave a comment here so we know it's still in flight.
   
   If no — please close this PR yourself so we can keep the queue manageable.
