3. consider to subclass UIData
in http://www.mail-archive.com/users@myfaces.apache.org/msg05454.html explaind the problem that a UIData component cannot be nested in a tree2. the other way around might be not possible too, because of the special (incompatible) state saving methods of UITreeData and UIData. Benefit: all the complex state saving code could be removed from UITreeData as this is already done in UIData. The TreeModel could be some kind of mediator between the DataModel of UIData and the tree data structure used in UITreeData


Please do not submit summary issues to JIRA.  I broke this apart into two separate JIRA issues.  Its fine to summarize outstanding issues but that should be done through an email to the dev list (not in JIRA.)
