how to keep valid form values in case of errors when doing redirect

Summary: how to keep valid form values in case of errors when
                    doing redirect
           Product: Struts
           Version: 1.0 Final
          Platform: Other
               URL: http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/userGuide/struts-
                    html.html#errors
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Enhancement
          Priority: Other
         Component: Documentation
        AssignedTo: struts-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: hauser@acm.org
                CC: radzimir@polbox.com,stefan.berger@softborg.com

When processing an error in redirect mode (see
http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=21408), the user looses all
the valid content of form fields just for one erroneous field.

Please describe in the documentation how to most easily avoid this end-user
annoyance (e.g. having to re-type an entire mail body when only an e-mail
address was mistaken).
