For what this is worth, we are running this patch on SpamAssassin 3.0.1 on
Solaris 8 with perl 5.8.5.  It is working ok and does reduce memory usage
and swap except when we have enough load to require the maximum number of
spamd processes.  Even then, the faster processing before and after the peak
load seems to reduce the impact of the peak load.
