[VOTE] Release hadoop-2.0.2-alpha
Folks,
I've created a release candidate (rc0) for hadoop-2.0.2-alpha that I would like to release.
The highlights of the release are several bug-fixes and stabilization of YARN/MapReduce.
The RC is available at: http://people.apache.org/~acmurthy/hadoop-2.0.2-alpha-rc0/
The RC tag in svn is here: http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/hadoop/common/tags/release-2.0.2-alpha-rc0/
The maven artifacts are available via repository.apache.org.
Please try the release and vote; the vote will run for the usual 7 days.
thanks,
Arun

Arun, MAPREDUCE-4647 would be good to include as well. It's not absolutely
critical - but does lower job start times.
Thanks

Arun,
I'd like to get HDFS-3972 in as well. Will merge in unless I hear otherwise.

Unfortunately, I've hit a couple of blockers (MAPREDUCE-4681 and MAPREDUCE-4682), so rc1 is delayed by a day or so.

Thanks Bobby.
I've just committed YARN-9 and friends as suggested by Vinod too.
I'll spin rc1 now.

You might consider pulling in
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-8822 just because it will
make your life a lot simpler when generating release notes (no JIRA
password required).

Hi Arun,
Can you consider https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-8833 for
2.0.2 as well? I've marked its target version as such, but change if
you feel it can go to another version. It is required to fix a
user-tool issue (fs -text) to work with compressed files (lzo, snappy,
etc.).

Hey Arun, I'd like to get in YARN-9 + HADOOP-8794 and MAPREDUCE-4649 before we make another release. The less number of releases with the inconsistent env var names, the better. Shouldn't take more than a couple of days before these patches can get committed. What do you think?
