[DISCUSS] Release Apache jclouds 1.7.2 RC2
This thread is for discussion of the second release candidate for
Apache jclouds 1.7.2. Please use this thread for discussion of issues
uncovered in the RC, questions you may have about the RC, etc.

Ah, interesting. These are evidently things we are not catching with
the Java 8 DEV@cloud build, which isn't complaining at the moment...
Do you have the logs of those test failures, by the way?

I ran the integration tests against aws-s3 and aws-ec2 and attached the
results to this mail. The former had some issues that appear timing
related as well as symptoms of JCLOUDS-461. The latter had many
failures, similar to jclouds 1.7.1, tracked by JCLOUDS-462. I ran all
these tests with JDK 7u51; I encountered several failures when using JDK
8 and we may want to backport commits from master to avoid these in
future 1.7.x releases.

We can close this vote tomorrow morning if we get another +1 (no
problem waiting longer, of course). So if anyone on the PMC has time

I'd like to test the 1.7.2-rc2 bits similar to what I did for rc1.
I'll do this after taking care of some other higher priority items at
work today. I should have the results latest by tomorrow evening PDT.

Yes, since these are known issues that will be addressed soon, but are
not quite ready yet to be fixed *immediately*, I hope we're all OK to
proceed with 1.7.2.

Build_from_source is ok against
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/jclouds/1.7.2-rc2/jclouds-1.7.2-source-release.tar.gz
I'd like also to share the results of the live tests I've run against
SoftLayer provider
UnitTests: Tests run: 92, Failures: 0, Errors: 0, Skipped: 0
LiveTests: Tests run: 151, Failures: 21, Errors: 0, Skipped: 11
Not sure these failures should prevent us to release 1.7.2-rc2 as a big
refactoring that fixes all of the problems is already under review at
https://github.com/jclouds/jclouds/pull/296
