Are dynamic folio headers possible?
Hi all,
Newbie here. We create a directory of contact information and would like
to indicate on the upper, outer corners of each page the range of names
to be found on that page. For instance, if the first person listed on a
page is John Abbott and the last is Larry Alcott, the folio would read
"Abbott -- Alcott".
But my impression is that a text flow is a flow and new pages are
brought in as needed and a processer wouldn't be able to distinguish
when that is.
Am I wrong? Can this be done?
At the moment we're getting by with feeding XML to Framemaker+SGML but
we'd like to go directly to PDF.
Thanks for any help...

You probably have to use fo:marker and fo:retrieve-marker.
Look at docs/examples/glossary.* in the FOP distribution.
