[jira] [Created] (OAK-6910) Offline compaction should not use mmap on Windows

Michael Dürig created OAK-6910:
----------------------------------

Summary: Offline compaction should not use mmap on Windows
                 Key: OAK-6910
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-6910
             Project: Jackrabbit Oak
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: segment-tar
            Reporter: Michael Dürig
            Assignee: Michael Dürig
             Fix For: 1.7.11

The offline compaction tool should do an effort to detect whether it is being run on windows and disable memory mapping if so. Rational: with memory mapping enabled it might fail to remove the old tar files (see OAK-4274 and [JDK-4724038|http://bugs.java.com/view_bug.do?bug_id=4724038]).
