This list is now moderated for non-subscribers

Hi Kudu developers,
Due to some recent issues with off-topic spam on this list, I've asked the
ASF infra team to enable moderation for non-subscribers on the dev@ list
(this list) as well as the user@ list. If you notice a delay in emails
arriving to either of these lists, please subscribe using the email
subscribe link at https://kudu.apache.org/community.html

This was set up by ASF infra as part of ASF JIRA ticket INFRA-13540.

Please let me know if you notice any problems with this new list config.
Also note that users sending off-topic messages to the lists will be banned
from posting.

I hope this improves the experience for all of us in using these mailing
lists.

Best regards,
Mike

Good point -- I believe moderators get that behavior by default with
reply-all on the moderation emails since it should add the user to the
dev-allow list (or user-allow list). There are some light docs for
moderators here: https://reference.apache.org/pmc/ml

I should mention that if my original mail sounded harsh regarding banning
off-topic posters, I really meant marketing / spam emails.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks, Mike!

BTW I believe when a moderator request comes for a non-subscribed user, the
moderator can mark that email address as "OK" for all future emails. So,
for people regularly posting real content from different addresses than
they subscribe to, we'll probably get you on the whitelist soon enough.
