I'm stuck - help appreciated

Howdy,
I don't know what happened, but suddenly my XML file doesn't get recognized.
I can't find out why. This is the starting command:

C:\jbuilder5\jdk1.3\bin\javaw -classpath "C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\jbproject\occ\classes;C:\Development\lf5\lib\lf5.jar;
C:\Development\jakarta-log4j-1.1.1\dist\classes;C:\Development\lf5\lib\lf5-l
icense.jar;C:\Development\lf5\lib\jaxp.jar;C:\Development\lf5\lib\parser.jar
;C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\jbproject\occ\lib\ext;C:\Program
Files\InterBase
Corp\InterClient\interclient.jar;C:\JAVA\itext\lib\iText.jar;C:\jbuilder5\jd
k1.3\lib\dt.jar;C:\jbuilder5\jdk1.3\lib\tools.jar;C:\jbuilder5\jdk1.3\jre\li
b\i18n.jar;C:\jbuilder5\jdk1.3\jre\lib\jaws.jar;C:\jbuilder5\jdk1.3\jre\lib\

String resource: example.xml log4j:ERROR No appenders could be found for
category (occproject.VolunteerTransactionImpl). log4j:ERROR Please
initialize the log4j system properly.

IT FINDS THE FILE (NO IO EXCEPTION) BUT IT SEEMS TO NOT PARSE IT AND THEN I
GET THE log4j:ERROR

ANY INPUT HOW I COULD TRACK THAT DOWN!?

Since I'm speechless, I have to write. Now it started working again and I

How can I find that out? I restored to an older version to see if it works
and there it found the XML file. Can't recall any changes which should
affect Log4J. But I don't really want to loose all the changes I made, so I
don't really want to start all over with the older version, if I don't have
to.
Is there a way to get some error messages from Log4J, to find out why it
can't read the XML file.

Just because there's no io exception doesn't mean log4j found the file.
Log4j will not propagate exceptions back to the caller.
