Apache Sentry with Hbase and Spark
Hi all,
I am studing about apache sentry and in general security features on
hadoop. What i need is obtain all the security features described in the
sentry project: user, roles, privileged, resources etc.
I have a system based on habse where I do spark query and jobs on the top.
Is it possbile have sentry support or plugin that works on top of hbase and
spark?

Do you think is possible develop a custom plugin for apache sentry that
works on hbase and spark? What about the effort? Is there a specific
guideline for doing that?

Hi Gaetano,
Apache Sentry does not currently support access control for HBase and HDFS.
It may do in the future but right now it supports access control for Hive,
Impala and Solr. You could look at using HDFS ACLs to restrict access to
files stored on HDFS, not certain what you would need to implement for
HBase.
