FYI - I believe we discussed this previously. Given this is now
possible - any objections to moving forward?

Cheers,
Brett

I recall discussing this with Archiva, but not Continuum. Anyone have
any objections to moving forward with this?

Cheers,
Brett

Gavin commented on INFRA-1965:
------------------------------

Note that this import now depends on ASF Jira being at an equal or later version that Codehaus, so currently we now wait until Jira 4.x.

See also: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Restoring+a+Project+from+Backup

Ans in particular the section on links, which says:

'... If the source/target of a link cannot be found (i.e. the entire project or the particular issue may be missing), the link will not be created although the project will still be imported....' (Therefore Henris first guess is correct.)

-------------------------------------

Some Continuum issues are linked to issues in other projects like SCM.
How will that work, since they won't be in the same JIRA instance
anymore? -Wendy

Brett Porter commented on INFRA-1965:
-------------------------------------

not sure about jira, but with the confluence upgrade I could still go from 3.0 to 2.x because we hadn't used any new features. So if the time was right we could still attempt a test run, but there's certainly no rush on this.

For the links, I'll see if I can find a way to locate all those issues and add a comment with the link so we don't lose it.

-------------------------------------

do you mean for the actual link (from the operations menu), or were you thinking of links in the comments/description that are normally autolinked?

You can't link across JIRAs so I think they might be problematic.

Either a) It will say "MAVEN-121" as text. Or b) the whole link will be copied over. No idea which :)
