Please allow the setting of the --userdir parameter for CayenneModeler for windows to be able to store the preferences somewhere else than the default location.

The "cayenne.userdir" seems to work only when starting CayenneModeler from the JAR. The EXE is not using it :(.

This won't be an issue in 3.1, as per CAY-1327 we are moving to java.util.prefs

actually I may have moved too fast closing it. In addition to preferences, there's also a modeler.log file saved in the user dir. Would that create problems on Windows? Any specifics on the type of problems?
