tomat perormance
According to the benchmarks published by the Orion site, the performance of
tomcat3.1 is at the bottom of the heap by a pretty(huge) large margin. The
servers tested included Orion, Resin, tomcat3.1, ASP,and IIs, etc.
I wonder what is your thought about it? Expecially those responsible. And
don't take me wrong, this is purely to find facts.
TIA

Well said. Though I have found that even Orion is not a lot faster then 3.3
dev. It is faster, and I do use it for production. Tomcat is not intended
for production. (Is it?) :o)

It is much slower than Orion or Resin. Those products have been developed
with a
strong emphasis on performance. Tomcat hasn't had performance as a goal
until
the most recent builds.

As you say the benchmarks are low for 3.1
That is why the main performance bottleneck was addressed in 3.2
The is request-response reuse;
Now tomcat performs very close to all the other engines tested.
