Using NiFi in a blue/green deployment environment

I asked this on HipChat as well,

My question is, could NiFi be used along the lines of handling traffic
routing in a blue/green deployment environment?
The issue I think is, based on my current basic understanding of NiFi, is
that multiple points of traffic to cut over would be fairly dynamic,
meaning the endpoints would be continuously changing per deployment and
having that handled in a fairly automated way might not be something NiFI
is really targeted for?
