[jira] [Created] (AIRFLOW-1989) Set running task instance state to failed doesn't work as expected

Tatyana Klionskaya created AIRFLOW-1989:
-------------------------------------------

Summary: Set running task instance state to failed doesn't work as expected
                 Key: AIRFLOW-1989
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AIRFLOW-1989
             Project: Apache Airflow
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 1.8.0, 1.9.0
            Reporter: Tatyana Klionskaya
            Assignee: Bolke de Bruin

PROBLEM: The functionality when setting the state of running task instances to failed from the UI doesn't work as expected. When you tried to change the state of running task instance, it changed, but task continue to process and finally the state of that task is changed again,
for example to success if all was ok.

EXPECTED: Task instance state should be failed.

CURRENT: The state of the task instance depends on task execution results.
