OK, I'll update to 0.7 es_ES for version 4.0.1; and for version 4.1 this
can be evaluated again.

   Andrea.

Oh, that's OK, I just wanted to raise awareness of es_ANY in case it
had been overseen. :-)

Thanks for the update! I just opened an issue to track the update of ES
dictionary

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123168

That was discussed on the ES mailing list for the 3.4 release, and the
consensus at the time was to ship es-ES as default dictionary instead of
es-ANY. Of course this can be discussed again, but it seems to me there is
not enough time to consider this in detail before 4.0.1 release, so I think
it's better for now to just update es-ES to the last version and then, if
there is interest, to discuss again the use of es-ANY for the next AOO
release.

Thanks again for the new dictionary!

Ricardo

Yes, we'd like to update the Spanish dictionary to version 0.7. From
what I've seen at

http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/openoffice/trunk/main/extensions.lst

currently the shipped Spanish dictionary is the variant for Spain. We
have a lot of variants for different countries, plus a neutral
dictionary; I'm not sure if it would be better to ship the neutral
Spanish version; anyway, these are the links to the dictionaries:

es-ES:
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/download/17511

Neutral Spanish:
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/download/17520

As we've released the 0.7 version after a year of changes and
transition, it would be great to ship this update in the new
OpenOffice download. Thanks a lot.

I'll do that once 4.0.1 is out and I've had enough time to inspect my
work in the actual UI.

Sorry, the snapshot still needed to be updated. The one now available at
that page should:
1) Have the new dictionary
2) Ignore (=remove) the old dictionary in 3.x -> 4.x profile migrations

OK, I'll take care of asking and getting that done.

It installed only the old French extension 4.2.

I can publish releases but not the extension projects.
Projects:
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/french-dictionaries
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/french-dictionary-modern
are unpublished.

I’ve updated the message.
I’ll publish the release when OO 4.0.1 is available.

Olivier

The new snapshot is available at
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/Development+Snapshot+Builds

But testers, please note that the "blacklisting" (done with the IDs
Olivier provided) can be triggered only for those who upgrade from
version 3.x, so users who upgrade from 4.0 will still end up with two
extensions.

> Can you also publish the extension, please?

Publishing a release must be done by the extension author, in the
"Releases" page.

I think it's OK to already publish the new dictionary.

As for the old dictionary, I don't know what scenario is best for users.
Maybe it's best that you keep it unpublished until 4.0.1 is available,
and then publish it but change the message (you are displaying a
message, right?) into something like "A new dictionary extension is
available. If you are using OpenOffice 4.0.1 or later you already have
the new extension. Otherwise, you can download it from ...".

   Andrea.

Thanks, Andrea.

Can you also publish the extension, please?

All dictionary updates have been applied.

Affected languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish.

French users should test the upgrade path from OpenOffice 3.4.1 or 4.0
when the next snapshot is available: as discussed here, the dictionary
was replaced and not merely updated.
