docker versions?

With TIKA-3906, we added a "docker version" number to the tika version,
e.g. 2.5.0.1. When the next version of Tika comes out, say 2.6.0, should
we start with a four digit docker version, e.g. 2.6.0.0 for our docker
releases or should we go back to three digits?

Thank you, all!

Cheers,

      Tim

Eric,

Our current release cycle is ~5days. At the fastest, it would be 3. We
should be able to respond faster than that for OS level cves, I think.

Tim, it's certainly a good idea.

Related question: any objection if I start tagging releases in our

Eric, don't think so. Docker image is a derivative of the tika-server, so
it shouldn't dictate Tika version change IMHO

Would it make sense to just release new versions of Tika when you want to release new versions of the Docker image?

Re: docker versions?

Hi, Tim.

I think a four segment version (e.g. 2.6.0.0 or 2.6.0.1 as the first image
for the 2.6.0) would be better for automation (esp when using bash scripts)
but have no strong feelings against using just 2.6.0.
